EU to put defense at forefront of 5-year agenda

Security and defense issues will come to the forefront of the EU’s strategic agenda for the next five years, Report informs referring to EUobserver.
The draft document states that the community countries intend to increase military spending, integrate the defense markets of EU countries, promote joint procurement of weapons and develop new projects in this area.
They also plan to work to increase the competitiveness of the EU against the backdrop of the economic dominance of the US and China.
