Estonia to buy ammunition worth over 1.2B euros

In the coming years, Estonia will purchase ammunition worth more than 1.2 billion euros, Report informs referring to the press service of the country's defense ministry.

"In the next four years, more than 1.2 billion euros worth of ammunition will be purchased," said Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, who approved the military development plan for the period from 2024 to 2027.

He noted that the country's spending on national defense is rising to three percent of GDP.

The Estonian authorities will purchase a medium-range missile system for the development of air defense, as well as ammunition for air attack.

In addition, the mechanization of maneuver units will be carried out and the replenishment of ammunition stocks launched by the government in 2022 will continue.
