Earthquake hits near Kuril Islands

Seismologists in the Pacific Ocean near the Kuril Islands (Sakhalin region) recorded an earthquake of magnitude 4, the Sakhalin branch of the Geophysical Survey of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GS RAS) announced, Report informs via TASS.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 34 kilometers south of the village of Malokurilskoye (Shikotan Island) at a depth of 47 km. Earthquakes were felt in Kunashir and Shikotan islands.
No tsunami threat has been declared.
