Canada's TC Energy has shut the Keystone pipeline — which connects Alberta to the US — after 14,000 barrels of crude oil spilled into a creek in Kansas.
Report informs citing Reuters that the leak at Keystone is the largest oil leak since a Tesoro Corp. pipeline leak in October 2013 that released more than 20,000 barrels of oil in North Dakota.
It's the Keystone's seventh spill since starting operations in June 2010, Reuters reported, citing PHMSA data.
The Canadian company said it initiated an energy shutdown and response at 8 p.m. CT on Wednesday after alarms went off detecting a pressure drop in the system.
