The defense ministers of the European Union (EU) member states will fully support the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said ahead of a meeting of the EU defense ministers in Brussels.
"We will fully support the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO, as this will strengthen our unity and the North Atlantic Alliance," the EU official said.
Borrell also commented on Turkiye's objections to Finland and Sweden joining NATO. He hopes that the Alliance will overcome this obstacle.
