Zahid Oruj: We must be honest with population about border opening

"We must be honest with the population about the issue of opening borders," the chairman of the Human Rights Committee of Milli Majlis (Parliament) Zahid Oruj said during the plenary session of parliament while discussing the draft state budget for 2025.

"Opening the borders will lead to an influx of hundreds of thousands of refugees into our country due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and strikes on Iran. Such a wave of refugees could create risks to political stability due to humanitarian, social, and cultural differences," he noted.
