A presentation of a book by one of the activists of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia, candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Aybaniz Rustamova “Heroic death that became eternal glory” about the martyrs of the 44-day Karabakh war took place in Moscow, the Russian bureau of Report informs.
Opening the event held with the participation of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia, the Union of Azerbaijani Youth of Russia, the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Russia, as well as representatives of the public of the two countries, Vice President of the Russian Federal Bar Association, Honorary Lawyer of Russia Ilgar Hajiyev noted that the Azerbaijani army led by the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev liberated the Azerbaijani lands from enemy occupation, adding that the Azerbaijani people owe to their martyrs for this historic victory.
According to the author of the book Aybaniz Rustamova, the first volume of the book contains information about 577 martyrs who gave their lives for the liberation of the occupied territories: “In the next volumes of this book, we will provide details about our 3,000 heroes. We cannot forget any of them. In total we plan to publish five volumes of books dedicated to our martyrs.”
Rustamova noted that regardless of the place of residence, one should not forget Azerbaijan’s history, the compatriots who became martyrs for Karabakh, their names should be immortalized for the future generation.
Professor of the Moscow State University of Management Sergey Garnik said that the book about the martyrs of the Karabakh war was written in the original genre of memoirs: “The book contains detailed information about each martyr. It is for this reason that the book is extremely valuable. In the book, the author proudly noted that a young generation ready to give their lives for their homeland is growing in Azerbaijan. Of course, these are the fruits of the work done by Azerbaijan to educate youth in the spirit of patriotism.”
People’s Artist of Russia Nikas Safronov, Associate Professor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations Abuzer Bagirov, artist Rauf Mammadov, executive secretary of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR) Jeyhun Huseynov, political scientist Ruslan Safarov and others spoke about the heroism of the Azerbaijani people in the 44-day war.
