Kremlin: Russia hopes Baku-Yerevan peace process to continue

Russia hopes that the peace process between Baku and Yerevan will continue, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said commenting on the aggravation of the situation on the Azerbaijan-Armenia border, the Russian bureau of Report informs.

Peskov called the military clash on the border of the two countries “disturbing news” and called on the parties to show restraint.

The Kremlin spokesman added that such incidents do not contribute to the advancement of the negotiation process and the approach to the signing of a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan.

On February 12, the Armenian Armed Forces fired at the positions of troops of Azerbaijan’s State Border Service in the direction of the Kollugishlaq village in the Zangilan district, as a result of which serviceman Parviz Khalilzade was injured.
