Hamid Hamidov: Provocation committed by Armenia - attempt to disrupt Brussels negotiations

The provocation committed by Armenia over the past 24 hours on the conditional border with Azerbaijan is an attempt to disrupt the negotiations planned in Brussels on the normalization of relations and a peace agreement between the two countries, Media Director of Global Media Group (GMG) Hamid Hamidov said in an interview with CBC, Report informs.

“Every time ahead of any very important meeting, first of all, of the heads of state, we traditionally observe an aggravation on the conditional border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Unfortunately, we have losses: there are killed and wounded. This is already a bad tradition,” he said.

According to Hamidov, although Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today announced his intention to participate in the negotiations in Brussels despite what happened, everyone knows how quickly he changes his mind and his decisions.

However, who exactly is behind the attempt to disrupt the negotiations remains to be seen. The GMG media director said Pashinyan is well aware that the peace agreement has virtually no alternative. Otherwise, there may be a war that will lead to the loss of Armenia's statehood, or a peace agreement on Baku's terms.
