Baku. 2 October. REPORT.AZ/ Apple has actually designed a smart ring. The company has applied to patent a design for its own "ring computing device," which contains a ring-mounted touchscreen, a computer processor, wireless transceiver, and rechargeable power source, Report informs.
The patent reads like a description of many current Apple Watch features but in miniature, or those that could be added to the Watch in the future. It explains that the smart ring would ideally be worn on the first finger of either hand, and be operated using a second finger through buttons or a scroller similar to the Apple Watch's rotating crown.
Apple's explanation for the new device suggests the company is interested in creating more products, like Apple Watch, that relieve people of the chore of holding their phones for long periods:
Use of existing touchpads and touch-screen displays, however, may be cumbersome, inconvenient, or inefficient for certain tasks and applications. A user's hands may be preoccupied with another task, for example, or the user's hands and/or arms may become fatigued after holding the device in a viewing position for extended periods of time. The light emitted by a touchscreen may be inappropriate in certain social environments or even dangerous if it gives away the position of a threatened user. Furthermore, switching back-and-forth between different input modes, such as a keyboard and mouse, may be inefficient. A need therefore exists for a more discreet, safer, more efficient, or more ergonomic way to interact with touch pads or touch screens.
Most images of the product have a small touch screen that responds to differences in pressure, like the new 3D Touch feature in the iPhone 6S. Apple's smart ring could also be activated with v
