The implementation of a smart city strategy in Namibia is playing a significant role in ensuring the safety of Windhoek, Windhoek Mayor Sakarias Uunona said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that the use of a smart city strategy to address housing and informal settlement issues in Windhoek has significantly assisted in mapping the city's informal settlements.
"This is useful for defining and mapping boundaries, and it gives us precise figures for land service provision. This allows us to determine how many square meters of space are needed for each household," he added.
