The capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (Middle Corridor) should be expanded on the basis of UN standards, Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Badriddin Abidov, said at the SPECA 2023 Economic Forum held in Baku on the topic of turning the region into a global hub, Report informs.
“We are actively working to expand the transport opportunities of the region. Thus, we are implementing strategic projects on the east-west and north-south routes. In this context, the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway lines is planned. Thanks to this, the transit of goods will increase. We also support the expansion of the capacity of the Middle Corridor,” he said.
