Turkiye and Russia intend to renew and extend the agreement on land transport which will ensure the quota-free and electronic customs transit, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Faruk Kaymakci said speaking in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the country's Grand National Assembly (Parliament).
Report informs via Turkish media that, according to the deputy minister, the Ukrainian crisis has led to serious problems with land transport to Russia. Therefore, the term of the agreement on land transport signed between the two countries in 1988, in period of the Soviet Union, is being extended.
After the signing of the agreement, the importance of the line via Georgia will grow and the volume of trade by land transport will increase as the quota-free and electronic customs transit between Turkiye and Russia will be ensured, the deputy minister said.
