Parliaments pave the way for thriving Belarus-Azerbaijan trade relations

In a recent meeting between the Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus, Igor Sergeenko, and the Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, the two nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties and achieving ambitious trade goals.

According to Report, Sergeenko emphasized the need for Belarusian and Azerbaijani enterprises to establish joint ventures, stating, "We fully understand that the bar has been set very high, and this year, the pace is at its highest. The task set by our presidents - to reach a trade turnover of $1 billion by 2030 - largely obliges our industrialists and agricultural producers."

The Chairman also highlighted the importance of finding a niche for the parliamentary corps to promote and further develop initiatives through participation in the work of various enterprises.

Sergeenko acknowledged the mutual demand for products between the two countries, stating, "Belarusian products are in demand in Azerbaijan, just as Azerbaijani products are in Belarus." He also mentioned the Azerbaijani Trade House in Belarus, encouraging its development and increased advertising to familiarize Belarusian people with a wide range of Azerbaijani products.
