Sustainable housing is a key tool for economic development and territorial balance, Barbara Zamora, Urban Development Specialist at the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
As part of its 2031 strategy, CAF promotes an approach that views sustainable housing as an investment in economic development and regional territorial balance, she added.
She noted that this approach helps mitigate climate-related losses, supports household capital preservation, and stimulates local economic development and employment through construction, rehabilitation, and energy efficiency improvements.
