Cargo transportation on Azerbaijani section of TRACECA up 7%

In January-February this year, the volume of cargo transported on the Azerbaijani section of the Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA) amounted to 7.074 million tons, and the cargo turnover – 1.654 billion tons-km.

This is 6.6% and 5.8% more than in the same period last year, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Some 3.974 million tons or 56.2% of cargo was transported by road, 2.288 million tons or 32.3% - by rail, 811,800 tons or 11.5% - by sea. Transit cargo accounted for 23.3% or 1.649 million tons of cargo transported along the corridor.
