Azerbaijan plans to present concept of smart settlements at WUF14

The Azerbaijani side intends to promote support for the concept of smart settlements for refugees, acting as the COP29 Legacy Team, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elshad Iskandarov said at the panel session "Peace-Positive Climate Action through Urban Solutions in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Settings" at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.

"For example, at the upcoming Climate Week in Baku, as well as through other contacts leading up to COP31, so that the guiding principles and branding for this initiative are fully developed by WUF14.

We expect that the initiative we are working on today will replicate the successful experience of the Baku Hub, and at the next WUF, we will be able to discuss specific successful examples," Iskandarov emphasized.
