Azerbaijan to import 50 new locomotives from France

The railway depot, which has been funded through a sovereign loan from the French Development Agency (AFD), will allow technical maintenance of 50 new Alstom locomotives, which will be delivered in accordance with an agreement signed with Azerbaijan Railways in 2014, Report informs.
On January 27, French Secretary of State at the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne visited the depot near Baku.
The depot was built by Turkish company Kolin under the control of the French SYSTRA Group.
During the visit, the secretary of state exchanged views with the companies' representatives and welcomed this example of cooperation between France and Azerbaijan in the railway sector.
