AzerGold increases gold, silver production in 2021

In 2021, AzerGold CJSC produced 61,500 ounces of gold and 134,400 ounces of silver, AzerGold Board Chairman Zakir Ibrahimov said, Report informs.

According to Ibrahimov, gold and silver production exceeded the expected amount by 11% and 55%, respectively. Compared to 2020, gold production increased by 2.5% and silver production by 10.9%.

Ibrahimov announced production figures at a meeting at AzerGold. The chairman noted that President Ilham Aliyev's historic visit to the Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area was the highest assessment and additional stimulus given to the company's activities. He noted that mining has become a leading field in the country's non-oil sector and gave a number of important instructions regarding the company's activities.

Zakir Ibrahimov set relevant instructions regarding accelerating the work done in preparation for the development of new fields, further intensification of geological exploration to increase reserves, maintaining growth dynamics in all areas, domestic retail sales of gold and silver products, contributing to the development of the jewelry market, staff training, corporate social responsibility and environmental protection measures, which are one of the main priority areas of the company.

The meeting also focused on the work to be done in the first half of 2022.
