Olympic and world champions appointed head coaches to Azerbaijani national team

Baku. 14 February. REPORT.AZ/ Assistants for new head coach of Azerbaijani national youth boxing team Asgar Eyvazov have been identified.

Report informs citing the official website of Boxing Federation that the 58-year-old specialist will be assisted by Olympic medalist Shahin Imranov and bronze medalist of the World and European Championship Ali Ismayilov.

Ismayilov has been in this team since the coaching period of Vagif Shirinov. Imranov replaced Etibar Abdullayev in this post. At present, Abdullayev continues his work with the head coach Vagif Shirinov in the main team.

Notably, Shahin Imranov won bronze medal at the Beijing Summer Olympic Games, while he claimed silver medals in the 2002 and 2006 European Championships. Ali Ismayilov is the bronze prize-winner of 1999 world and 2000 European Championships.
