Baku to host Grand Prix and World Championship of Taekwondo teams

Baku. 14 November. REPORT.AZ/ Baku to host the Grand Prix and World Championship for Taekwondo teams.

Report informs referring to the official website of the World Taekwondo Federation.

The updated report states, Grand Prix will be held on December 9-10, and World Cup of women's and men's teams on 12-13 December at "Sarhadchi" Sports Olympic Center.

Secretary General of Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation Naghi Safarov told Report, the decision was made about a month ago: "No one wanted to host the competition. Azerbaijan was offered to play host to the tournaments. We thought that both tournaments are important and accepted the proposal."

According to him, names of athletes who will take part in the competition will be announced next week.

The last year's winner of World Championship for Taekwondo teams was an Azerbaijani team.
