The Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling team for the Henri Deglane Grand Prix tournament to be held in Nice, France, has been declared.
Mahir Amiraslanov, Georgi Edisherashvili, Islam Bazarganov (all 57 kg), Turan Bayramov (70 kg), Joshgun Azimov, Hajimurad Hajiyev, Hajimurad Omarov (all 74 kg), Abubakr Abakarov, Osman Nurmahammadov (both 86 kg), and Sharif Sharifov (97 kg) will lead the country in Nice under the leadership of head coach Namig Abdullayev and Zalimkhan Huseynov.
The squad left for France today. Tomorrow, a draw will be held in all weight categories in freestyle wrestling, and the first opponents of the athletes will be determined. The national Greco-Roman wrestling team, which is currently training in Istanbul, Turkey, will go to France on January 16.
Judge of the first category Intigam Aliyev will defend justice in the Grand Prix. The freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers will represent Azerbaijan in the three-day competition. According to the competition program, women will compete on January 15, freestyle wrestlers on January 16, and Greco-Roman wrestlers on January 17.
