Azerbaijan increases medal tally to 68 at Islamic Games

After the 11th day of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkiye, the number of medals won by Azerbaijani athletes increased to 68, including 20 gold, 27 silver, and 21 bronze medals, Report informs.

With this result, Azerbaijan ranked 4th in the overall ranking of the participating countries.

In the first three positions, respectively, Turkiye has 234 (90 gold, 81 silver, 63 bronze), Uzbekistan 112 (40 gold, 28 silver, 44 bronze), and Iran 110 (37 gold, 31 silver, 42 bronze) medals.

So far, 42 out of 56 countries have won medals.

The Azerbaijani team won medals in 15 sports - wrestling (8 gold, 8 silver, 7 bronze), rhythmic gymnastics (5 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), aerobics (2 gold, 3 silver), fencing (1 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze), taekwondo (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze), gymnastics (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), judo (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), athletics (1 gold, 2 silver), volleyball (1 bronze), handball (1 silver), swimming (1 silver) weightlifting (1 silver, 3 bronze), para table tennis (1 bronze), and para-archery (2 bronze).
