Mnatsakanyan: Thousands of Armenian conscripts were sent to serve in occupied territories of Azerbaijan

During the court proceedings at the Baku Military Court on March 17, accused Lyova Mnatsakanyan revealed that every year, 7,000 to 8,000 Armenian conscripts were sent to serve in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories.

He stated that there were two military call-ups annually, and during each call-up, 3,500 to 4,000 Armenian citizens were deployed to the occupied areas. According to Mnatsakanyan, approximately 70% of those serving in the so-called "army" of the unrecognized regime were the citizens of Armenia, while the remaining 30% were ethnic Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh.

He further added, "There was no distinction between them during their service; they all reported to the same command and wore identical uniforms."

The trial continues with charges against Armenian nationals involved in war crimes, including crimes against humanity, aggression, genocide, violations of war laws, and terrorist activities.
