Shahin Babayev: Azerspace-3 satellite planned for launch by 2029 end

The commissioning of the Azerspace-3 satellite is planned to be carried out by the end of 2029, stated Executive Director of AZCON Holding Shahin Babayev in an interview with Report.

According to him, the Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos) is currently expanding its activities in the field of telecommunication satellite services and in the area of observation satellites.

"The implementation of the project related to the Earth observation satellite Azersky-2A is ongoing, and the completion of work in this direction is planned by the end of 2029," Babayev said.

He also noted that, considering the expiration of the operational lifespan of the telecommunication satellite Azerspace-1, the commissioning of the Azerspace-3 satellite is envisaged by the end of 2029: "Thus, Azercosmos will further expand the directions of its activities both in the field of Earth observation satellite services and telecommunication satellites."
