Scientists have found out that the Indian coronavirus strain, also known as delta variant, is more contagious than others and may lead to gangrene, Report informs, citing Bloomberg.
The new mutation reportedly causes symptoms uncommon for coronavirus patients. These symptoms include hearing impairments, severe digestion problems, and thrombosis that causes gangrene. The delta variant has spread in UK and Scotland, which report a surge in hospitalizations.
The World Health Organization has predicted the spread of the Indian coronavirus variant in Europe. Experts say the Indian strain causes the biggest concern since it is more contagious than the 'original' coronavirus and is dangerous even for people who have immunity against COVID-19.
