More than a hundred coronavirus vaccines are currently under development, WHO Chief Researcher Soumya Swaminathan said at a briefing today, Report informs citing TASS.
"We have 105 vaccine candidates in development," she said. "Many of them are in phase three clinical trials."
The expert believes that this is very good since new vaccines can be more effective, easier to use, and require less stringent storage conditions.
"Therefore, the need for new development and testing remains, and we must encourage all those who try to develop new vaccines," Swaminathan said.
