Azerbaijan sees decline in first-time TB diagnoses

In 2025, 2,197 people were registered in Azerbaijan with tuberculosis for the first time.
The State Statistical Committee said in response to Report"s inquiry.
This figure is 170 people fewer than in 2024.
Last year, 144 people died of tuberculosis in the country, including 121 men and 23 women.
According to the data, the highest number of infections was recorded among people aged 30 and above.
"In this age group, 1,447 people contracted tuberculosis, while 552 cases were recorded among those aged 18-29, 135 among those aged 14-17, and 63 among those aged 0-13," the committee said.
