The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (FSA) and relevant agencies continue joint measures to eliminate restrictions on the export of tomato and apple products from Azerbaijan to Russia.
Report informs, citing the Agency, that the joint measures have already produced positive results.
With the participation of the Agency's specialists and employees of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control ("Rosselkhoznadzor"), joint video monitoring continues in tomato production enterprises operating in all regions of the country. Information on the rehabilitation measures carried out at the enterprises and the inspection results is regularly provided to the Russian side. As a logical result of the work done, Rosselkhoznadzor allowed tomatoes from seven tomato production enterprises starting April 9, 2021.
To date, Russia's relevant authorities have permitted 89 tomato producers to export to Russia. At present, the export potential of enterprises allowed to ship tomatoes to Russia is 243,688 tons, making 135.4% of the 179,956 tons of tomato products exported to Russia in 2020.
