On July 15, during the attempted coup organized by the terrorist organization FETO and its head Fethullah Gülen, the people took to the streets at the call of the head of state and defended their homeland.
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral said during a video conference dedicated to the 4th anniversary of the attempted military coup in the country, Report says.
"We could defeat those traitors to the Motherland. FETO's planned retreat of the coup claimed the lives of 251 citizens of the country. After their attempt was unsuccessful, the government launched a mechanism to purge the entire country of accomplices of the FETO terrorist organization."
The Ambassador also noted that Azerbaijan strongly supported Turkey in this fight.
"President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was the first to contact our head of state Recep Erdogan and express his support. We have always been united with Azerbaijan in the face of all challenges and problems. And we declare that we stand with Azerbaijan under any circumstances," the diplomat concluded.
In turn, the Ambassador's adviser on internal affairs, Mehmet Tomuk, noted that FETO tried to extend its influence to the entire territory of Turkey and beyond under the guise of opening various educational. "It prepared and encouraged all its members to penetrate all state administration structures, thereby seizing power in the country. At the same time, the organization used the method of completely hiding its true intentions."
