Türkiye concerned about Armenia's attempts to use international platforms to make politically motivated accusations

Türkiye, as a country directly interested in stability and security in the region, as well as an active participant in initiatives, is seriously concerned about Armenia's attempts to use international platforms to make politically motivated accusations, including on the topic of the Lachin road, Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the UN Sadat Onal said at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the "humanitarian crisis" that allegedly arose in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan.

"We have to solve the problem according to the context. First of all, it is necessary to take into account the legitimate interests of Azerbaijan. It is also necessary to respect Azerbaijan's right to sovereignty," he said adding that Azerbaijan has already expressed concern about the misuse of the Lachin Road.

"However, these concerns of Azerbaijan were not taken into account," he said.
