While the world community and international organizations accept Azerbaijan's rightful position on the Karabakh issue, India's political support and military cooperation with Armenia will harm India-Azerbaijan and India-Türkiye relations, the Director of Asia Pacific Studies Application and Research Centre of the Ankara University, professor Ali Merthan Dundar, told Report.
Touching on India's arms sales to Armenia through Iran and military cooperation with them, he stressed that the people of Armenia spend money on weapons despite their economic woes:
“Undoubtedly, Azerbaijan and Türkiye won’t be pleased with such a military investment by the Armenian leadership and both brotherly countries will have to take precautionary measures.”
According to Merthan Dundar, in the current situation, Armenia, which can raise the prosperity by establishing good and peaceful relations with the neighboring states, will continue to create problems for its people.
The professor also emphasized that by taking such a step, India is depriving itself of a strong trade partnership in the region.
