Samad Seyidov: "PACE does not praise positive changes in Azerbaijan"

"We hear criticism of Azerbaijan during every discussion of the report. However, nothing is said about the positive changes taking place in Azerbaijan. "

Western European bureau of Report informs, Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Samad Seyidov said during the discussion of the reports of the PACE Bureau and the Standing Committee.

According to him, the hate speech of the Armenian delegation to PACE does not change: "In Azerbaijan however, there are positive changes. For example, we hear Ilgar Mammadov’s name very often in PACE. Although all claims against him were withdrawn by the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan. This is fully consistent with the requirements of the European Court of Human Rights. Secondly, the decree of pardon recently signed by the President of Azerbaijan. At the same time, the decision of President Ilham Aliyev on reforms in the justice and judicial systems of Azerbaijan can be cited as an example. This is fully consistent with the values of the Council of Europe."

In the end, Seidov asked to include positive changes taking place in Azerbaijan in the report.
