The recent crisis and the specific actions not taken by the international community regarding the transportation of weapons through the Lachin checkpoint is a clear manifestation of double standards, Malik Kashif, a political analyst from Islamabad, told Report.
“As, in general, decisions and actions taken by the international community are affected by a combination of factors, comprising political considerations, diplomatic relationships, and the specific context of each situation, international reactions can vary depending on multiple factors, such as the credibility of the information available, the level of evidence, and the geopolitical interests of different countries,” he said.
Kashif pointed out that humanitarian assistance shipments are generally subjected to strict regulations and surveillance to ensure that they are used exclusively for humanitarian purposes.
According to the analyst, if there are concerns or suspicions about the misuse of humanitarian cargo for military purposes, it is crucial to bring these concerns to the attention of the relevant international organizations.
