On the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, representatives of the international coalition "Khojaly: Recognize to Reconcile Coalition" visited the "Corridor of Death" located on the road between Khojaly and Agdam districts, where the Khojaly people were killed.
Report informs that foreign human rights defenders who are coalition members also met with the witnesses of the Khojaly tragedy.
Later, in memory of the innocent victims of the tragedy, olive trees were planted on the territory and a special poster of the coalition was installed with the inscription: "Without justice there's no trust, without trust there's no reconciliation."
The international coalition's statement, voiced by the Italian Human Rights Federation chairman, Antonio Stango, notes that the path to peace lies through justice, and sustainable peace can only be achieved by eliminating the consequences of war crimes of the past.
As part of their visit to Azerbaijan, the guests visited the Juma Mosque and the Alley of Martyrs in Aghdam. At the meeting, organized at the special mission of the President of Azerbaijan in Karabakh, the guests were provided with information about the work on the restoration of religious and cultural monuments in Karabakh.
