A five-party meeting of representatives of the prosecutor general's offices of the Caspian states has kicked off in Baku today.

According to Report, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said in his opening remark that Azerbaijan strongly condemns the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in the Russian Federation and wishes a speedy recovery to all victims.

The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan also touched upon environmental issues and the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in the country in November 2024.

"Azerbaijan is taking important steps to improve ecology and environmental protection measures, especially after the complete liberation of its territories. We are making every effort to combat violations of environmental legislation and use legal mechanisms for this purpose. Therefore, holding this meeting before COP29 in Azerbaijan in November this year is not accidental," he said.

Kamran Aliyev noted that issues of the ecology of the Caspian Sea and the effective use of its resources have always been and are in the center of attention of the political leadership of Azerbaijan.
