Lavrov thanks Azerbaijan for support in evacuating Russian citizens from Iran

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov have discussed the current security situation amid the Israeli-Iranian conflict, as well as issues of bilateral and regional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in a phone call.

Report informs, citing the Russian Embassy, that the Russian foreign minister thanked the country's leadership and all relevant agencies for the support provided by Azerbaijan in the evacuation of Russian citizens, including art figures, from Iran.

The parties expressed serious concern about the security situation in the region as a result of the Israeli-Iranian conflict, and stressed the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.

The ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
