Karabakh yesterday, today and tomorrow int'l symposium kicks off in Istanbul

The international symposium "Karabakh yesterday, today, and tomorrow" started in Istanbul on October 12, Report informs.

The event was organized by the Marmara University of Turkey, with the support of the Turkish Research Institute, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Uskudar Municipality, and others.

Those speaking at the opening ceremony of the symposium said that this long-running conflict was resolved thanks to the Second Karabakh War, which went down in history as the Patriotic War.

It was noted that the 44-day war, along with the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands from Armenian occupation, is a great example of the unification of the people and the state with an iron fist. After the Patriotic War, there is no such thing as a solution to the Karabakh conflict. Work is underway to revive these territories and establish peace in the region.

The speakers stressed that, as always, during the Great Patriotic War, both the Turkish state and its people were always with Azerbaijan.

During the two-day event, panels will be organized on such topics as Uzeyir Hajibeyli's "Karabakh issue" or "Armenian-Muslim conflict" articles, "Albanian cultural heritage and Armenianization in Karabakh," "Opinions of Armenian artists about Azerbaijan, Turkey and Karabakh. XVIII-XX centuries", "The power struggle of global and regional factors in the three seas before and after the Second Karabakh War."

The opening of the symposium was attended by representatives of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, the Turkic Council representatives, professors of prestigious Turkish universities, public figures, students, and others.
