Ilham Aliyev: "Azerbaijani-Iranian relations to continue to develop successfully through our joint efforts"

"I appreciate the regular political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Iran and our cooperation in a number of areas. I believe that today there are great prospects for further development of our mutually beneficial cooperation," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in a letter sent to Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, Report informs.

"Undoubtedly, the restoration of the Azerbaijani-Iranian state border as a result of the liberation of our historical lands has created favorable conditions for the full use of existing potential in various fields, joint participation in the implementation of transport and communication corridors. I would like to emphasize the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of new communication links between the East Zangazur economic region of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic via the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“At present, large-scale reconstruction and restoration work is being carried out in our liberated territories. We would be pleased to see the participation of companies representing your country in this process in the near future.

"I believe that the Azerbaijani-Iranian relations, which serve the interests of our peoples and the interests of our countries, will continue to develop and strengthen successfully through our joint efforts," the letter reads.
