Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, as part of his participation in the high-level week of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, met with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
At the meeting, it was noted that relations between Azerbaijan and the Council member countries are at a high level in political, economic, trade, cultural and other spheres and are based on mutual respect and friendship.
It was emphasized that the Azerbaijan-GCC business forums make a positive contribution to the further development of these ties.
The minister informed Al-Budaiwi in detail about the processes taking place in the region, emphasizing that the growing provocations of the formations of the Armenian Armed Forces in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability, the main goal of the ongoing anti-terrorist measures is the disarmament of illegal Armenian armed forces and the dissolution of the illegal regime.
The secretary-general noted that the GCC always unequivocally and fully supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
