Ex-ambassador: US always backed Azerbaijan's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity

Azerbaijan pursues an independent foreign policy and the United States highly appreciates it, Robert Cekuta, program director of the Caspian Policy Center, former US ambassador to Azerbaijan, said in an interview with Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the board of the Center for International Relations Analysis.

The United States has always supported Azerbaijan's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, Cekuta said.

According to him, the United States has worked to resolve the Karabakh issue but is also looking to the east.
