The Comoros will continue their struggle for freedom until the end, Mohamed Toihiri, former ambassador of the Comoros Union to the United Nations, said during a conference titled "Illegal French Occupation of Mayotte Island of Comoros Union" organized by the Baku Initiative Group, Report informs.

In his speech on the history of French colonialism in the Comoros, Toihiri emphasized the urgent need for constitutional change to restore the rights of the people on Mayotte Island.

The former ambassador accused France of violating the principles of international law and trampling on the rights of the island's citizens.

"France's colonial policy is causing the deaths of many people on Mayotte Island. People are facing oppression and are being openly driven from their homes," he stated.
