Brazilian journalist: Khojaly tragedy should be recognized as genocide so that it does not happen again

The Khojaly tragedy must be recognized as genocide so that it does not happen again, Brazilian Fabiana Ceyhan, one of the first foreign journalists to visit the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, told Report.

Ceyhan said that she was horrified by what she saw in Karabakh:

"I was one of the first journalists to visit the area after Karabakh was liberated from the Armenian occupation. True, it was somewhat risky, because there were a lot of mines in the area. At that time, there was no airport or transportation facilities. But we took the risk and saw everything with our own eyes."

Ceyhan said that the Karabakh issue had become a life mission for her:

"Because we saw that Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan both historically and geographically."

The Brazilian journalist recalled that Khojaly was a small town, there were no military forces there:

"In other words, it is impossible to justify Armenia's attack on innocent people with anything. There were only women, children and families there. This is a huge loss of life, and I think the world should always remember this tragedy and recognize Khojaly so that such events do not happen again. We are all human beings and, regardless of where we come from, we must unite for peace and justice for Khojaly."
