The 3rd session of the OIC Permanent Ministerial Council on Youth and Sports was held in Baku on June 23.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, said that the first session of the Permanent Ministerial Council on Youth and Sports established an institutional base for solving problems on youth and sports in the OIC region.
“This became possible thanks to the OIC General Secretariat, which cooperates with the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he stressed.
Expressing deep gratitude to the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum for being an effective partner in organizing the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 2017, the Minister also wished success to the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports, which will host the 5th Islamic Games in Konya in August this year.
The report on the activities and projects implemented by ICYF was also presented at the meeting.
The Permanent Ministerial Council consists of the OIC General Secretariat, the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum together with the OIC Trio (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia), and Palestine, Iran, Senegal, and Iraq.
