An international academic conference titled "Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas" has begun in the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to Report, the event is organized by the Baku International Center of Multiculturalism and the Center of Analysis of International Relations, and is dedicated to the third anniversary of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
Over the course of two days, participants—including experts, scholars, and officials—will discuss the global, historical, and political factors contributing to the spread of Islamophobia.
It is noted that over the past two years, the Baku Center of Multiculturalism and the Center of Analysis of International Relations, in cooperation with the G20 Interfaith Forum, have repeatedly held international conferences aimed at combating Islamophobia. Their goal is to support efforts to counter all forms and manifestations of Islamophobia.
March 15 was first declared the Day to Combat Islamophobia at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in Niamey, Niger, on November 27–28, 2020. The United Nations General Assembly adopted March 15 as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia in 2022.
