Azerbaijanis living in France are holding a protest rally.

Report informs that the Azerbaijani community in this country gathered in front of the statue of the great Azerbaijani poet of the 19th century, Khurshudbanu Natavan, in Evian-les-Bains.

The aim of the meeting organized by the European Azerbaijanis Coordination Council and the European Azerbaijanis Congress is to protest against the recent acts of vandalism against the statue.

With this protest action, the French Azerbaijanis bring to the attention of the French public and media the symbolic meaning of the statue of Natavan, and its moral value for the Azerbaijani community.

The demonstration is held following the permission of the local authorities.

Azerbaijanis living in Paris, Strasbourg, moreover in other European cities such as Berlin and Geneva gathered for the protest action.

Police were involved to ensure security in the area.
