Azerbaijan intends to open a trade mission with diplomatic status and an official representative office for tourism development in Israel in 2021, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Jewish State, Report informs.
“Azerbaijan intends to open a trade mission with diplomatic status in Israel this year. Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi headed the Israeli delegation at the second meeting of the Israel-Azerbaijan mixed commission, held via videoconference, dedicated to the development of bilateral relations and trade between the two countries. Head of the Azerbaijani delegation at the meeting, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said during the meeting that Azerbaijan intends to open an official representative office for tourism development and a trade representative office with diplomatic status in Israel this year,” the statement said.
Israel and Azerbaijan have maintained diplomatic relations since 1992, but the Azerbaijani embassy in the Jewish state has not yet been opened. The Israeli diplomatic mission in Baku began work in 1993. The press service of the Foreign Ministry noted that the previous meeting of this bilateral commission took place in 2018.
