The Prime Minister Ali Asadov has today discussed the expansion of Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations in a meeting with the delegation led by Numan Kurtulmus, the speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, Report informs, referring to the Cabinet of Ministers.

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the successful development of friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in all areas in accordance with the principle of one nation, two states. It was stated that relations between the two countries have reached the highest level of strategic partnership and alliance as a result of the efforts of the heads of state.

The importance of President Ilham Aliyev's first official visit to Türkiye after being re-elected as the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was stressed, and satisfaction was expressed that this has become a tradition between the leaders of the two countries.

At the same time, it was noted that Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations are developing successfully within the framework of international institutions, and the importance of joint steps taken towards the transformation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) into a regional and international power was emphasized.

Both sides noted the role of parliaments in the development of interstate relations and appreciated the mutually beneficial cooperation between the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) and the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

Commenting on the importance of the transition of the chairmanship of the institution from Türkiye to Azerbaijan at the 14th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) held in Baku, Ali Asadov said that during the presidency of Türkiye, the international prestige of the Assembly has increased, and inter-parliamentary cooperation has expanded for the sake of global peace and development.
