National championship matches in Türkiye will resume on December 19, said President of the Turkish Football Federation Mehmet Buyukeksi, Report informs referring to Spor Haberleri.

Previously, Turkish Super League matches were suspended indefinitely due to an attack on referee Halil Umut Meler during the 15th round match between Ankaragucu and Rizespor, which took place on December 11.

“We are proud of Halil Umut’s work both in our national championship and in the international arena. The incident with his beating is unacceptable. The referee is gradually recovering.
