Baku. 28 August. REPORT.AZ/ AFFA will support UEFA’s current president Alexander Čeferin’s re-election as the President of the organization at the next elections, AFFA Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov told Report.
According to him, letter of support has been sent to UEFA on behalf of AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev: ‘We support Alexander Čeferin taking into account works he did during past two years’.
Alexander Čeferin was elected as the seventh president of UEFA on September 14, 2016. On August 21, national associations of Slovenia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Island and Farer Islands put forward candidacy of the 51-year-old President and sent an official letter to UEFA. At the same time, countries like Turkey and Russia also stated that they will support Alexander Čeferin. The elections will be held at the congress on February 7, 2019 in Roma, Italy. Only candidate is still Alexander Čeferin.
